![]() Flowered Rock Riding Lessons Each Flowered Rock Riding Club Member will receive an hour long lesson, once a week. The riding lessons encourage each child to work at his/her own level and at the same time...have something tangible to work towards! We have developed 50+ equine-related skills for the children to attain. Along with each of these achievements, we have created an iron-on patch that signifies the achievement. Once the child has accomplished the achievement, he/she will be awarded a patch to iron on his/her 'Flowered Rock Rider' jacket, or an article of clothing of his/her choice. These achievements have been split into eight mastery groups. These include the following: Barn Ground Riding Medical Educational Community Service Training Personal To heighten the comradery amongst riders, we will spend a few minutes at each lesson announcing each rider's progress/goals and any achievement patches earned during that week. There will be a very clear checklist for the children to follow that details the skills required to earn each achievement patch. As long time educators, we know the importance of children balancing academics with extracurricular activities. Therefore, we designed a very important, motivating patch, the Scholar Rider Patch. We will be acknowledging students who are meeting their highest level of potential in school and concurrently achieving as a 'Flowered Rock Rider.' Parents will have input as to the specific mastery criteria for this patch. We strongly believe that success in one area, such as riding, can be used as a springboard for success in all areas of life. Thus, as a child learns a system of goal achievement as a 'Flowered Rock Rider,' we expect that he/she will be able to transfer these skills to other areas, such as academic progress. Children can come and go from the club as your family's schedule permits, and when space in the club is available. *** Click on the 'List of Patches' link below to download the list of patches each riding club member can attain.*** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Riding Club Membership Fee: Simply signing up for lessons will make you a member!
